KJ Greene, No. 93 in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, officially committed to UCF on Friday.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound point guard out of Atlanta (GA) Pace Academy also took official visits to Georgetown, Florida State, and Siena.

The Columbia, South Carolina native becomes UCF’s first commitment of the 2024 class. In 2023, UCF took a one-man class with three-star wing Comeh Emuobor. That class finished No. 115 in On3’s 2023 Industry Ranking Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings for Johnny Dawkins.

What is UCF Getting in Greene?

“I’m becoming a complete player, a true two-way guy,” Greene told On3. “I’ve shown I can do the offensive stuff, I can shoot it, score, get my teammates involved, but I’ve been really focusing on the defensive side, staying locked in there. My pace has gotten more consistent, too.”

“I’m a facilitating point guard who can score,” Greene told On3. “I lock in on defense; I am lanky, so I like to use my length. Offensively, I like getting downhill and scoring where I can. Over the last eight months, I have become more of a point guard, with assists going up. I have started to feel up the state sheet more with steals and rebounds. I’m not just scoring; and I am contributing a lot to my team’s winning.

“I watch James Harden often. I like how he mixes combo moves, creates space for himself, and creates space for his teammates. His role in Brooklyn resembles what I do here at Pace.”

KJ Greene Scouting Report

KJ Greene is a confident point guard. Strong frame with good length and a natural feel for the game. He is a lead guard, and he takes care of possessions. Gets the ball to the right spots and plays with tempo and pace. The jump shot is good. When his feet are set, he can knock it down with consistency. Will need to continue working on his overall strength. Adding to his core and getting his footwork and balance down. This will help him when finishing at the rim. Greene has a good pace. He is able to accelerate and decelerate in the flow, which helps him get to his spots in the half-court. Greene has a confident mid-range pull-up jumper off two and three dribbles, going both ways. He is an average athlete but uses good anticipation and instincts as a defender, especially guarding off the ball. He has an innate toughness. A high floor guard that will continue to grow within a program.
