The UCLA Bruins are getting a two-for-one special with their latest transfer addition from the portal. North Texas Mean Green transfers Gabriel and Grayson Murphy announced their commitments to UCLA on Monday following a visit over the weekend.

Grayson and Gabriel are twin brothers from Dallas. They elected to not only stay within the state of Texas for college but within the region for college. However, after an impressive 2021 campaign where the duo combined for 26.5 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks, it appears as if they want to test their skills against higher-ranked opponents.

“Lights just got a little brighter..,” Gabriel Murphy wrote on Twitter.

Murphy twins headed to L.A.

Gabriel Murphy is 6-foot-2, 215 pounds. He earned second-team All-CUSA honors from ProFootballFocus after his stellar season. He had 52 tackles, 12.0 TFLs and 7.0 sacks. Gabriel also added two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, nine quarterback hurries and three pass breakups over 13 starts.

Grayson Murphy is also listed as 6-foot-2, 215 pounds. The conference’s coaches recognized him as an honorable mention following the 2021 season. He posted 38 tackles, 12.5 TFLs and 8.5 sacks with two forced fumbles, one recovery for a touchdown and nine quarterback hurries in 13 games, 12 of which were starts at DE

UCLA beat out other Power Five options for the twins. Late in February, the two took a visit to Nebraska, where they received an offer from the Cornhuskers.

Both were three-star recruits in the 2019 class, with Grayson Murphy coming in slightly higher than his brother. He was rated the No. 151 linebacker in the class according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Grayson Murphy comes in as the No. 86 linebacker according to On3’s transfer rankings. His brother isn’t far behind him at No. 90.
