After falling behind 7-0 in Saturday night’s game against LSU, the Bruins tied the game. Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw a 75-yard touchdown to his tight end Greg Dulcich.

Following the tie, the UCLA defense forced a three-and-out, and UCLA running back Zach Charbonnet untied the game on a 12-yard touchdown. Charbonnet is a Michigan transfer that has already been incredibly impressive since moving to Los Angeles.

Thompson-Robinson is 4-for-7 with 150 yards and the score. Due in large part to the long touchdown, he is averaging 21.4 yards per completion. He has a couple of other long completions of 36 and 35 yards as well.

Midway through the second quarter, the UCLA defense is winning the battle at the line of scrimmage; LSU has just one yard on the ground. Quarterback Max Johnson has a touchdown pass and 127 yards on 13 completions.

Both coaches really need a win. LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is coming off a 5-5 season last year following an undefeated national championship season in 2019.

UCLA looks to start their season 2-0 for the first time under head coach Chip Kelly. Kelly is 11-21 at UCLA and got his first non-conference win last weekend when the Bruins defeated Hawaii 44-19.

Kelly’s seat is much hotter than Orgeron’s, but an out-of-conference win against a Power Five opponent ahead of conference play would significantly help both coaches.

One of the hottest tickets of the year

For the first time ever, LSU traveled to the historic Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Tigers fans want to be there for the memorable occasion, as there may be no hotter ticket in college football right now.

“LSU sold its allotment to the #UCLA game within a matter of days, requested more and sold those,” tweeted Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated. “I believe at least 10,000 tickets have been sold through the school. Officials in Baton Rouge expect the amount of LSU fans here to top 15,000.”

While UCLA will be the home team, Tigers fans want to put their stamp on the game. As their team attempts to return to glory, they’ll have plenty of support from their faithful in Pasadena.
