American Fork (Utah) three-star safety Davis Andrews has committed to Utah.

He chose the Utes over BYU, Notre Dame and UCLA.

Andrews is the No. 705 overall prospect and No. 71 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in Utah.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has been a frequent visitor in Salt Lake City, having taken unofficial visits in June and the end of August before making his official visit on Sept. 17 when the Utes defeated Weber State. He is set to take a two-year mission trip after graduating from American Fork with the expectation of enrolling in 2026.

Andrews does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Andrews adds another in-state piece to Utes’ 2024 class

With Andrews’ pledge, Utah now has 11 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class, which entered October as the No. 54 class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Andrews is the fourth in-state pledge for head coach Kyle Whittingham and Co. The other three commits from the Beehive State all come from Draper Corner Canyon High School. Four-star interior offensive lineman Isaiah Garcia is the No. 248 recruit and No. 16 IOL in the cycle, while four-star quarterback Isaac Wilson is the No. 336 recruit and No. 22 QB.

Wilson is the younger brother of former BYU star and current New York Jets QB Zach Wilson. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder committed to Utah on May 24. He and Garcia are the two highest-ranked players in the state.

“I felt it in my gut, my head, my mind and my heart and I knew they were the school for me,” Wilson told On3 in June. “I love Coach (Andy) Ludwig and Coach (Kyle) Whittingham. They’re great guys. It was a perfect opportunity for me. Then, we got the check off from Zach. He got to come over and check out the offense.”

Other pledges in the Utes’ 2024 class include Las Vegas Arbor View three-star wide receiver David Washington, Sacramento three-star running back Lamar Radcliffe and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei three-star safety Jeilani Davis.
