Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic 2024 four-star power forward Jacob Cofie has committed to Virginia.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound senior chose the Cavaliers over Ohio State, USC, and Washington.

“I ultimately chose Virginia because I felt it was the best school to develop me as a player and take my game to the next level,” Cofie said to On3. “Also, being coached by Tony Bennett would be an honor. I feel like there’s room on the team for me to work hard and earn an opportunity to get mintutes as a freshman. It felt like family when I went on my visit.”

In his own words, what type of player are the Cavaliers getting in Cofie?

“I am a dynamic two way forward who can face up, score and also stretch the floor and switch on to many positions.”

Cofie has a message to the fans of Virginia.

“I’m excited to call Virginia home all the way from Seattle. I can’t wait to get on floor and represent UVA and help us win another national championship. I see a championship in the near future.”

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Cofie is the No. 82 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 12 power forward prospect and the No. 1 player in Washington. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Jacob Cofie does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
