Jordan Lowery, a three-star point guard in the 2025 class, was in attendance for Virginia Tech’s blowout victory over in-state rival Virginia earlier this month.

The 6-foot-1 junior out of Winston Salem Christian (NC) recapped his time in Blacksburg in an exclusive interview with On3.

“The visit was a great visit,” he said. “Really enjoyed my time there. They showed me a good time. What stood out the most I would definitely say the environment. It’s one of the most rowdy games I’ve been to. VTech fans are 🔥. My favorite part of the visit was definitely watching them take down Virginia. The environment was crazy!”

Lowery dove into his relationship with the staff at Virginia Tech.

“The relationship with staff is good. Me and Coach Glitner have been building a relationship for some time now. He visited me at practice, we communicate every week, and the staff says they need me at VTech.”

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Lowery, a Saint Louis native, is the No. 169 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 28 point guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

In addition to Virginia Tech, Jordan Lowery also holds offers from NC State, Saint Louis, Oklahoma State, and more.

Lowery discusses his game

“I’m a two-way playmaker,” Lowery recently told On3’s Jamie Shaw in a previous interview. “I defend at a high level, I create at a high level, and I can score when I need to. If my team needs a bucket, I can go get that for us. My shooting has really improved; stretching the defense is one of the biggest things at the highest level. It creates driving lanes and gets you in the paint. The defense breaks down when you get in the paint.

“I watch a lot of Sharife Cooper and Darius Garland,” Lowery said. “Being a smaller guard, I got to watch smaller guards and what they do. I really watch a lot of Chris Paul and how he handles pick-and-roll situations.”

What the junior guard is looking for in a school

“I’m going to be looking closely at the family culture. If I don’t stay at home, I want to feel at home. The player development is huge for me. I want to get to the next level; that is my main goal, so whatever school can help get me to the next level will be big with who I pick. That and the family culture.

“I play with a lot of pace and a lot out of the pick and roll. I’ll look for a team that is going to put me in the right position to succeed.”
