On Thursday, the Big Ten announced the schedule of conference opponents that Washington will face from 2024 through 2028 following their move to the league, which begins next fall.

After agreeing to join the Big Ten this offseason, Washington will join fellow former Pac-12 schools Oregon, USC and UCLA as part of the conference in 2024 to give the league 18 total teams. The Bruins and Trojans agreed to migrate to the Big Ten in 2024 back in the summer of 2022, and then the Ducks and Huskies joined them this past summer. Before those most recent moves, the league had decided on a flex scheduling model that kept certain rivalries intact each season while rotating the other teams in and out on a yearly basis.

However, since Washington and Oregon joined to raise the count from 16 to 18 programs, Big Ten schedule-makers had to go back to the drawing board and reconfigure the logistics of the new conference slate. Midway through the 2023 season, they’ve finally figured out their plan for 2024 and beyond. So below, you can check out Washington’s full Big Ten schedule for the next five seasons:

Recap

Well, Washington is certainly getting thrust straight into the deep end with their first Big Ten conference slate. In 2024, the Huskies are set to play nine league games with five of those on the road, while also facing four current top-10 clubs. They’ll get USC and Michigan at home and will make trips to Oregon and Penn State. That’s quite a schedule to get their Big Ten life started.

For the Huskies, it appears that Oregon is the one constant opponent. They face fellow Pac-12 migrants UCLA and USC in three of the five years from 2024-2028, but they’ll get a game against Oregon annually. So, the league appears to have opted for a format of one annual rival with the other eight opponents rotating on a yearly basis. Along with USC and UCLA, Washington will face several other clubs three times in that span and some just twice.
