Sammamish (Wash.) Rainier Beach four-star cornerback Caleb Presley experienced an opportunity that he’ll likely never forget Tuesday.

The Washington commitment tweeted out a photo of himself alongside NFL Hall of Famer and Washington alum Warren Moon as the two attended the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s ‘Heart of a Hall of Famer’ event.

Moon attended Washington from 1975-1977 where he completed 49.8% of his passes for 3,465 yards and 20 touchdowns. From there he would go to the Canadian Football league and played with the Edmonton Eskimos from 1978-1983.

During that time Moon amassed 21,228 passing yards and 144 touchdowns while winning the five consecutive Grey Cups and being named the Grey Cup MVP in 1980 and 1982.

Moon would go on to join the Houston Oilers in 1984 and spent the next 10 seasons in Houston passing for 33,685 yards and 166 touchdowns. In 1990 Moon was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

In 2000 Moon retired ending a career that also saw him play in Minnesota, Seattle and Kansas City. He finished his NFL career with 49,325 yards and 291 touchdowns. Between his CFL and NFL tenures, Moon passed for 70,553 yards and 435 touchdown earning his NFL Hall of Fame induction in 2006.

Presley likely hopes to follow in Moon’s footsteps as a great at Washington before trying to make it in the NFL. Originally an Oregon commitment, Presley flipped from the Ducks to the Huskies on Dec. 21.

Presley is the No. 200 overall prospect and No. 24 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Washington.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $39K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
