On3 Consensus three-star linebacker DeAndre Gill of Kent (Wash.) Kentwood has been a longtime commitment to UCLA. But that pledge could be in danger of flipping.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Gill announced in a social media post Thursday morning that he has received an offer from the Washington Huskies.

“I am blessed to announce that I have been offered a full-ride scholarship from my hometown school, the University of Washington,” Gill said.

Gill thanked Washington head coach Jimmy Lake and co-defensive coordinator/outside linebacker coach Ikaika Malloe in the post for the offer.

Gill originally committed to UCLA on May 3, turning down offers from UNLV, FAU, Washington State.

UCLA has top 25 class with DeAndre Gill in it

DeAndre Gill is part of a UCLA class that ranks at No. 24 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. The Bruins have 12 commitments, headlined by On3 Consensus four-star receiver Jadyn Marshall and four-star quarterback Justyn Martin.

Gill is the lone player from Washington that is committed to the Bruins. However, Gill is originally from Stockton, Calif., so the Bruins being the first Pac-12 offer went a long way toward him making an original decision.

DeAndre Gill originally said he was planning on staying 100% loyal to the Bruins when he committed. Plus, his social media timeline is full of nothing but UCLA mentions and retweets.

However, it’ll be interesting to see how the Huskies’ offer impacts his ultimate decision. The Huskies have the nation’s 33rd ranked class, but only 10 players have committed to UDub at this point.

DeAndre Gill has missed most of his senior season with a wrist injury. Without him in the lineup, Kentwood is 4-4 on the season and 3-1 in league play. Kentwood faces 6-1 Woodinville on Friday night.

Gill ranks as the No. 16 player in Washington in the On3 Consensus. He’s also the No. 72 linebacker in the country.
