Washington safety Vincent Holmes has re-entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Holmes initially entered the portal when former Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer left to take the Alabama job. Now, Holmes is once again looking for a new team.

While Holmes was a highly-touted recruit, he did not amass any stats in 2023 for the Huskies. He did appeared in four games as a true freshman at Washington last season, mostly being utilized on special teams.

All four of Holmes’ appearances came against conference opponents, including him seeing playing time during the Pac-12 Championship Game win over No. 5 Oregon.

He had reportedly tried out positions on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball during spring training, but was unable to find a role that suited him. He tried his hand at receiver after redshirting his true freshman season as a defensive back.

Before college, Holmes played his high school football at San Jacinto (CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 290 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

As a recruit, Holmes held interest from big-name schools including the USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins.

Utah transfer OL Koli Faaiu will visit Texas A&M, hopes to see Washington, Oklahoma

Utah transfer center Koli Faaiu is taking a visit to Texas A&M and has trips to visit Washington and Oklahoma set up, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. The visits were first reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Faaiu was mostly a reserve during his first two seasons at Utah before playing in 11 games in 2023. He started eight at center.

Faaiu is one of the better interior offensive linemen in the portal, and would likely compete for a starting spot wherever he lands.

Faaiu played high school football at North Creek (Wa.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 954 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
