Miami (Fla.) Christopher Columbus High School four-star EDGE Dylan Stephenson received an offer from West Virginia Thursday. He announced the news on Twitter.

Stephenson is the No. 96 overall prospect and No. 9 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder holds 18 Power Five offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Miami as the favorite to land a commitment from Stephenson at 40.8%.

On Jan. 6 Stephenson trimmed his list of top schools down to AuburnFlorida StateGeorgiaLouisvilleMiamiMichiganMichigan StateNebraskaPenn State and Tennessee.

Stephenson’s first visit in January came on Jan. 21 as he visited Florida State.

“I had a great time,” Stephenson told On3 following the Florida State visit. “It wasn’t what I haven’t seen before, but I wanted to come by again. This is like my fourth or fifth time and just wanted to keep building the relationship.”

The following week he visited Penn State for the Nittany Lions’ Junior Day on Jan. 28.

“My relationship with the staff is great. I feel like I’m in contact with someone from the staff every day,” Stephenson told On3. “Whether it’s Coach (John) Scott and I talking about pass rush moves or Coach Alan Zemaitis going over this week’s game plan.”

“It’s a real unique place and I’m happy I was able to get up there and see it for myself,” Stephenson said. “I was able to watch the wrestling match on Friday night, and they take it very serious up there. I’d say that was one of the highlights; seeing the entire community gather to support.”

Stephenson currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $64K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
