West Virginia head coach Neal Brown has updated his team’s injury report ahead of Thursday’s game against Houston.

Brown revealed earlier this week that two players are game-time decisions, while one will for sure be out.

“So Wyatt [Milum], he’ll kind of be a game-time [decision],” Franklin said. “Tomas [Rimac] will not play this week. As far as how long he’ll be out, I’m not sure yet. He’ll be able to return, but he won’t play this week. And then Aubrey [Burks] I think is still questionable.”

Wyatt Milum started all 12 games at left tackle for West Virginia last season. He was a second-team preseason All-Big 12 selection, according to Athlon. Milum has also started every game for the Mountaineers this season, but he was poked in the eye against TCU on Sept. 30, prior to the bye week.

Tomas Rimac also started the first five games of the season, before leaving the TCU game with a leg injury.

Aubrey Burks started all 11 games he played in last season and has started all five games so far this year. He has recorded 17 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and an interception.

West Virginia will play at Houston on Thursday, as the Mountaineers look to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Neal Brown opens up on West Virginia facing Dana Holgorsen

West Virginia will be facing off against a former Mountaineers coach in Dana Holgorsen on Thursday.

Neal Brown spoke about that dynamic ahead of the matchup.

“I know a lot is going to be made about West Virginia playing Dan, and I get it,” Neal Brown said. “And I think what doesn’t get talked about, Dana did a good job here and I’m reminded because every day I drive into this parking lot and I see a picture of him and the Orange Bowl team.”

In 2011, Dana Holgorsen’s first as the head coach at West Virginia, he led the Mountaineers to a 10-3 season and a massive Orange Bowl win over Clemson. The next season, Holgorsen led the Mountaineers into the Big 12.

“So, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that. Did a really good job. Dana and his staff,” Brown said.

When it was all said and done for Holgorsen at West Virginia, he finished with a 61-41 record in eight seasons and he had three top-25 finishes.

“But the storyline, Malachi Ruffin is really the only player that played under the previous staff. I think we’ve got three guys that were recruited by the previous staff. … The game will have some emotions to it. We know that. We’re preparing our guys for that.”
