Rejoice Cowboy fans, Dallas is back in the playoff for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Their star wide receiver, Amari Cooper, is all in on the hopes for their first Super Bowl win since 1996.

The Cowboys are gearing up for a Wild Card matchup against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET. Some fans and media claim that Dallas matches up poorly with the 49ers, a comment Cooper didn’t take to kindly.

“It don’t really matter what outsiders say,” Cooper said about their Wild Card game against the 49ers being a bad matchup. “At the end of the day, that’s why the game is played. If the game was won by what people believed would happen, then why even play the game?”

That’s music to Cowboys fans ears.

The 49ers head into postseason play winning four of their last five games, the only loss being against the Titans 20-17 in week 16. The Cowboys can say the same, as their lone loss came against the Cardinals by three points two weeks ago.

After a less-than impressive 2020-21 campaign, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy turned a 6-10 injury-riddled team into a 12-5 legitimate contender behind the backs of his explosive offense led by quarterback Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Ceedee Lamb and Amari Cooper.

Cooper, who was barely targeted in the loss to the Cardinals, missed two games this season thanks to a cracked rib after the season opener where he hauled in 13 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns and an injured hamstring almost a month later.

The Alabama product took 68 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns during the regular season for the Cowboys. It’s just the second time in his career that he had been held under 1,000 yards receiving since joining the league in 2015.

Thanks to his injury-plagued start to the 2021-22 season, the Cowboys have relied on second-year receiver CeeDee Lamb, who just completed his first 1,000-yard receiving season as well, leading Dallas with 79 snags for 1,102 yards and six scores.

The Cowboys, who are hosting their Wild Card game against the 49ers this weekend, have opened up as a three-point favorite, according to ESPN. The game will air live on CBS this Sunday following the conclusion of the FOX broadcast of the Eagles vs. Buccaneers wild card game.
