Baltimore Ravens part ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman
Following their Wildcard weekend loss against divisional rival Cincinnati, the Baltimore Ravens have already made some staffing changes. Thursday afternoon, the team announced that they were parting ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Roman served as OC in Baltimore for four seasons and built the elite 2019 unit that ended in an MVP trophy for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Here was the release from the Ravens, which NFL insider Adam Schefter posted on Twitter:
His teams finished in the top-five in rushing every single year under his watch while also making two top-10 finishes in points and total yards. The team never advanced in the Playoffs like they’d hoped. His Ravens fell to the Titans 28-12 at home in the divisional round as the one-seed in 2019-20, then fell to Buffalo 17-3 in the same round the year after. In 2021 and this year, injuries to Lamar Jackson ended the star QB’s season and the Ravens ultimately missed the postseason last fall and barely made it this year before losing to the Bengals.
There’s uncertainty surrounding whether Jackson will return (seems unlikely at this point) but we know Roman is gone and the search for a new offensive coordinator is now underway.

Roman also had a statement to add regarding his departure:
“After visiting with Coach Harbaugh and after huddling with my family, I have decided that now is the right time to move on from the Ravens so that I can explore new challenges. My family would like to thank Steve Bisciotti for the opportunity to be a part of this elite organization and for being the first class leader that he is. I would also like to thank John Harbaugh, who I respect as much as any head coach I have worked alongside. I learned a lot working for John and will carry those lessons forward.”
