There have been a number of trades early on in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Baltimore Ravens just surprisingly traded their star receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to the Arizona Cardinals and the No. 100 overall selection (third round choice) for the No. 23 overall selection in the first round of this year’s draft. While he was at Oklahoma, Brown played with former Heisman Trophy winner, Kyler Murray, and they teamed up to form one of the best quarterback-wide receiver tandems in college football during their time together.

In 2018, Hollywood had 75 catches for 1,318 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Murray had an electrifying season as well, throwing for over 4,000 yards and rushing for over 800 yards in bringing home the coveted Heisman hardware for the Sooners.

Brown is coming off his best NFL season last year with the Baltimore Ravens. In the 2021-2022 season, he pulled in 91 catches for 1,008 receiving yards and six touchdown catches. The Cardinals’ wide receiver corps’ will now feature the likes of Brown with De’Andre Hopkins, Rondale Moore, and A.J. Green at the top of their depth chart.

Hollywood Brown spent all three seasons with the Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens initially drafted the Hollywood, Florida native in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. During his three seasons with the franchise, Brown reeled in 195 catches for 2,361 receiving yards, while hauling in 21 touchdowns. His best performance in the 2021-2022 season came against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 11, when he reeled in 10 catches for 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Coming out of high school, he was rated as a four-star prospect, according to multiple recruiting services.

Both Brown and his former teammate, Lamar Jackson, were both very upset about the trade and they let that be known on social media.

It will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry the former Oklahoma star can develop in reconnecting with his former teammate in the Crimson and Cream.
