The Carolina Panthers released their injury report from Thursday ahead of their Week 14 matchup versus the Falcons.

The injury report is pretty clean this week with just three players not participating so far. Also, one of the three absences is non-injury-related.

Veteran guard John Miller did not participate in practice on Thursday. The former Louisville staple is dealing with an ankle injury.

Guard Michael Jordan is also stuck on the sideline so far this week. The Buckeye alum is nursing a hamstring injury.

Defensive tackle Da’Quan Jones did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday but he is not injured.

Currently sitting at 5-7 on the season, Carolina returns to action Sunday at home against the Atlanta Falcons. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

Panthers update status of Cameron Erving

The Carolina Panthers have designated left tackle Cameron Erving to return from the injured reserve, which will give him a 21-day practice window before the team officially reinstates him to the active roster. Erving can practice this week with the Panthers.

A 6-foot-5, 315-pound left tackle out of Florida State, Erving – who’s in his seventh season in the NFL – injured his calf in a Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots. He was placed on the injured reserve back on Nov. 8 and hasn’t played in a game since.

With Erving sidelined, the Panthers have started Dennis Daley – a third-year offensive guard out of South Carolina – in his place.

Stephon Gilmore calls out Patriots

Former New England cornerback Stephon Gilmore wasn’t pleased with the way the team handled his rehab from a quad injury. In a recent article from The Athletic, Gilmore criticized the Patriots staff for making him do too much.

“I didn’t show up there over the summer, so I was on the right track,” he said. “And then I show up there and start on all the unnecessary stuff. Like, right before I got traded, I ran like 3,000 yards in three days. Like a real workout. It’s like, why would you do all that right before you trade me? You don’t do that. Let me do it my way. I don’t know if they were trying to test (the leg) and see, I don’t know. I’m not the type of guy that says, ‘Oh, I don’t want to do that.’ I work hard. I do my stuff. I just think that wasn’t right.”

A former Pro Bowler, Gilmore underwent surgery for the injury last December. He anticipated working his way back to play for New England, but the team had other plans.

On Oct. 6, the Patriots traded Stephon Gilmore to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick. He did not play a game for New England in 2021.

The veteran made his 2021 debut on Halloween in the Panthers’ game against Atlanta. So far this season, he has recorded eight tackles, two interceptions and two passes defended.
