CBS Sports updates mock draft following 2023 NBA Draft Lottery
The NBA Draft Lottery was kind to the San Antonio Spurs, giving the Texas franchise the No. 1 overall pick and the rights to draft Victor Wembanyama, a generational prospect from France. But beyond Wembanyama, the 2023 NBA Draft is a bit murky — and CBS Sports took a crack at a first round mock draft following the lottery earlier this week.
CBS didn’t specify what set the order for the back half of the draft, where picks are still fluid as the conference finals — and finals — shake out. As such, the last handful of picks are likely subject to change between now and the draft.

While Wembanyama is a virtual lock for the No. 1 pick, the Hornets could go with Henderson or Miller at No. 2, as it mostly depends on what they want. CBS has Charlotte going with Miller, one of the best players in college basketball in 2022-23, to come in and provide wing scoring and creation to play along with LaMelo Ball and Co. That leaves Henderson to the Trailblazers at No. 3 — and subsequently shapes how the rest of the draft will shake out.
And with a little more than a month to go until the 2023 NBA Draft in late June, there will be plenty of time to cook up plenty more mock drafts.
