LOOK: Charles Woodson calls out Steelers secondary for dropped interceptions
It was a brutal night for the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary, as they have dropped four potential interceptions in a loss to the Miami Dolphins. That led former NFL cornerback Charles Woodson to take to Twitter to pile on with a joke about the missed opportunities.
“Steelers dbs need some stickum,” Woodson wrote.
Woodson knows what he’s talking about, as he finished his 18-year NFL career with 65 interceptions and twice led the league in picks (2009 and 2011). His tweet came right after Pittsburgh cornerback Levi Wallace dropped the fourth interception of the game in the final minutes.
The drops ended up costing the Steelers dearly, as they went on to lose 16-10 and fall to 2-5 on the season, their worst start since 2013. Had they been able to come up with even one of those interceptions, it could have been a big swing in momentum that resulted in a different outcome.

Unlike the Steelers, Miami had no issues with dropped interceptions as they recorded three picks against rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. That included the final two drives of the game, so it’s clear Pittsburgh has more than its secondary to blame for coming up short.
Neither team scored in the second half as Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa ended the game 21-of-35 passing for 261 yards, a touchdowns and, of course, no interceptions. The Steelers defense also failed to record a single sack in the game.
Pittsburgh has never finished below .500 in the Mike Tomlin era, but things aren’t looking good so far this season. They’ll hope for better results in Week 8 when they take on the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday on the road.
