Cowboys players take subtle shot at Chargers 'homefield advantage'
The Los Angeles Chargers have been known to have some of the worst home-field advantages in the NFL for several years. It’s been no secret. Following their big 20-17 win over the Chargers, a few Cowboys players decided to take a few jabs at the home-field advantage for Los Angeles.
Dallas didn’t use the silent count once today against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium, quarterback Dak Prescott confirmed and added:
“Shoutout to all the Cowboys fans.”
One of his favorite targets, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said he enjoyed the crowd and that it even felt like home.
“We felt it. We heard it. And we loved it. Cowboys Nation definitely came out. It felt like a home game, personally,” the sophomore wideout said. “That’s how I look at it. We heard them every time…A great atmosphere.”
Lamb played like he was comfortable out there today. He hauled in eight catches for 81 receiving yards in the contest, leading his team in both stat categories.
The Chargers home-field advantage has been one of the worst in the National Football League for several years and even former franchise quarterback Philip Rivers spoke about it.
The more ravenous fan bases in the NFL have routinely taken over the Chargers’ stadium, turning a road game into more of a home game atmosphere for the away team.

The Chargers players have known how bad their home-field advantage has been for years. The San Diego-Union Tribune wrote an excellent article detailing how the players knew once the team was moved to Los Angeles, that their home field advantage problems weren’t going away.
Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons
The Cowboys decided to switch Parsons from linebacker to defensive end and the switch worked beautifully. Micah Parsons dominated the Chargers‘ offensive line and he even got in a couple of brutal shots on Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert. In the first half against the Chargers, Parsons lined up at edge on every one of his 19 defensive snaps so far through the first half. He had two pressures on 13 pass rushes, a 15.4% pressure rate, according to Next Gen Stats. Parsons was also Dallas’ highest-graded pass rusher against the Chargers, according to PFF.
Parsons lined up across from Michael Schofield and dominated the matchup. He recorded eight pressures, according to PFF. That’s the most pressures by a rookie since Nick Bosa in 2019.
Tony Pollard
Pollard continued to prove that he’s one of the best backup tailbacks in the National Football League, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries against the Bolts. He also hauled in three catches for 31 receiving yards.
The Cowboys will be back in action next Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on ESPN.
