Cowboys star Micah Parsons announces birth of daughter on Saturday ahead of playoff matchup
Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons got to share some news on Saturday afternoon that’s bigger than any playoff win: The birth of his second child, a girl. He hasn’t yet shared a name.
He did however give one of the big early numbers, noting his daughter weighed 7.1 ounces. And moreover, he expressed some of the joy that comes with being a parent — joy a tweet can’t entirely capture.
“Thank you God for blessing me with most beautiful baby girl!” Parsons wrote.
Parsons also has a son, Malcolm.
He missed Cowboys walkthrough ahead of their first round playoff matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but will be playing in the game.

The Dallas Cowboys are traveling to Tampa Bay for a Wildcard Weekend playoff matchup airing on “Monday Night Football” with a lot of big names on the injury report. But aside from a reserve cornerback, all the Cowboys seem in line to play in the biggest game of their season to date.
Star edge rusher Micah Parsons popped up as a “did not practice” but it was for personal reasons, as he announced the birth of a daughter — his second child — on Saturday. One of the few valid excuses to miss final practice/walkthrough before a playoff game.
Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who was limited with a foot injury on Thursday and Friday, practiced fully on Saturday and has no designation for the game.
On the offensive line, center Tyler Biadasz practiced fully all three days despite an ankle injury. Tackle Tyron Smith worked through a knee injury and practiced as a full participant on Saturday — he had been limited the two days prior. Both are now in line to play.
And linebacker Leighton Vander Esch practiced fully all three days with a neck injury.
The only player on the downswing is cornerback Trayvon Mullen, who the Cowboys recently signed as they search for an answer at the No. 2 outside corner spot. He is listed with an illness and is now out for the game after missing the final two days of practice.
