For the second consecutive day, a Dallas Cowboys assistant coach has entered COVID-19 protocols. The team announced defensive line coach Aden Durde tested positive on Tuesday, following special teams assistant coach Matt Daniels.

The virus has been running through the defensive line room, with Trysten Hill and Osa Odighizuwa testing positive before Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. Now, their position coach will be out for a few days along with them.

Heading into a crucial matchup against the Washington Football Team on Sunday Night Football, the defensive line has been the anchor of the Dallas defense thus far. Odighizuwa, a rookie out of UCLA, has been a surprise player for the Cowboys, alongside the likes of Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory. At times, rookie linebacker Micah Parsons has been involved as well.

Dallas Cowboys DE signed by Carolina

The Carolina Panthers have signed defensive end Azur Kamara off of waivers from the Dallas Cowboys, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. He was cut on Monday after appearing in nine games this season.

Kamara made his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers and recorded a tackle in three consecutive games. He has played sparingly on special teams as well, playing a season-high 18 snaps with the unit against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thanksgiving Day.

Coming out of Kansas, Kamara was an undrafted free agent signed by Dallas before the 2020 season. The defensive end played well during his senior season in Lawrence, recording 106 tackles, 24.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

Kamara was also featured during the Cowboys’ appearance on Hard Knocks, with the show following his journey throughout training camp.

Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons compete off the field

There may not be a unit playing better football right now than the Dallas Cowboys defense. It’s been led by second-year cornerback Trevon Diggs and rookie linebacker Micah Parsons, with both making plays all over the field.

On Monday, the two took a break from terrorizing quarterbacks to play a game of truth or dare Jenga. In a promotion with 7/11, which are the two players’ numbers, Diggs and Parsons competed in the first round of the “7/11 Total Snackdown” for a championship belt.

At one point, Diggs has to try to make a move while standing on one leg and using one hand, while Parsons attempts to fire off a free-style wrap about the convenience store. You can watch the full video here.
