Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had high praise for free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. when speaking on 105.3 The FAN on Friday. In particular, Jones reflected on the iconic catch that Beckham made back when he was a New York Giant.

Jones has watched a lot of football in his day. He had never seen something like what Beckham did that night.

“He made the greatest catch I’ve seen,” Jones said according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Beckham, a free agent who we last saw tear his ACL in the Super Bowl while playing for the Los Angeles Rams, has taken this season to go on effectively the professional equivalent of unofficial recruiting visits. He’s stopped by various teams and is seemingly gauging where he might sign once he’s fully healthy.

Dallas, with a dearth of bona fide receiving options outside of CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, could see a big boost from the addition of a star like Beckham, assuming he can play like we saw him pre-knee injury.

And Jones is seemingly interested. Though he did have a caveat about the best catch he’s seen.

“Other than the one Dez [Bryant] made for the touchdown against Green Bay. Bottom line is, Odell is a player that I admire a lot,” Jones said.
