The Dallas Cowboys provided an update on the ribs injury of receiver Amari Cooper. Cooper has no injury designation for Monday night’s contest against Philadelphia, per NFL reporter Adam Caplan. The former Alabama receiver practiced in full Saturday.

Cooper suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter during a Week 2 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers. He finished with three catches for 24 yards in the 20-17 win. It was nothing compared to his 13 reception, 139-yard performance against the Buccaneers that also included two touchdowns.

Cooper led the Cowboys with 1,114 yards receiving and five touchdowns this past season. The four-time Pro Bowler is eyeing an even more impressive year thanks to the return of quarterback Dak Prescott from injury. The receiver is in his fourth season with the Dallas Cowboys. The Oakland Raiders drafted him in 2015 and he played there until a 2018 trade.

Dallas finished 6-10 in 2020 and missed the playoffs. Postseason appearance have been hard to come by for owner Jerry Jones, as his team made the playoffs just three times in the past 10 seasons. Their offense remains one of the most talented in the NFL, and they are still considered a postseason threat in 2020.

Other members of the Cowboys listed on the Week 3 injury report include defensive ends Dorance Armstrong (ankle) and Carlos Watkins (knee), tackle Ty Nsekhe (illness) and safety Donovan Wilson (groin). Kickoff against the Eagles is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday in AT&T Stadium.

Other than Cooper, the Cowboys get defensive end Randy Gregory back. Gregory missed Week 2 against the Chargers because of COVID-19 protocols.

With the update that the Amari Cooper injury won’t keep him out of Monday Night Football, the Cowboys chances of improving to 2-1 increased dramatically. It is also the first home game and matchup against an NFC East opponent in the 2020 season.
