There are certain things all NBA players wish to achieve throughout their careers — making the All-Star team, winning a title and getting their name in the record books are some, just to name a few. However, with the advent of video games and the popularity of the NBA2K series, being name the cover athlete is one of those achievements the best of the best strive for.

Well, Suns star Devin Booker can now add it to his list of accomplishments. The former Kentucky sharpshooter shared the cover art for NBA2K23, with him front and center on the cover.

“AHHHHHHHHHH,” is all a hyped Booker had to say, obviously enthusiastic about his gigantic accomplishment.

In addition to the NBA 2K23 cover, Booker got paid — as Shams Charania of The Athletic shared the details of the Suns star’s contract extension while originally announcing him as the cover athlete.

“The Phoenix Suns and All-NBA guard Devin Booker are finalizing a four-year, $214 million supermax contract extension that he’s set to sign as soon as next week, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium,” tweeted Charania earlier last week. “Booker will also be the cover athlete for NBA 2K23, per sources.”

Moreover, Booker has continued to rise up the NBA ranks since coming into the league in 2015, being named to the All-NBA First-Team last season. Additionally, the star shooting guard hasn’t just been tremendous, but he’s led Phoenix to becoming one of the premier teams in the NBA once again.

After making it to the NBA Finals in 2021, the Suns rebounded to capture the best record in the league. While they were bounced by the Dallas Mavericks during the playoffs, the future is more than bright for Booker and his teammates in Phoenix. With a talented roster led by the ever-improving Booker, the sky is the limit for the Suns moving forward.

While leading the Suns to the best record in the NBA, Booker averaged 26.8 points and 4.8 assists per game. Additionally, the former Kentucky star shot 38.8% from the three-point line, which was good enough to set a new career high for Booker.

As you can see, it’s a good time to be Devin Booker, and there’s so much more for the 25-year old shooting guard to accomplish in his career. He’s off to a roaring start, and fans of the Phoenix Suns — and fans of fun basketball — are ready to enjoy the ride.
