Keyshawn Hall recognized as 'Instant Impact' transfer portal addition for Auburn
AUBURN — Keyshawn Hall was the first transfer portal signee for Auburn following the season and for good reason.
The Big 12’s leading scorer averaged 18.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and nearly one steal per game last season on 42.7% FG shooting and 35.4% 3P shooting. In conference games, Hall averaged over 20 points per game. He even dropped 40-plus points on Arizona State and 30-plus on Kansas. He was again voted all-conference, earning Second Team All-Big 12.
“Keyshawn Hall has progressively gotten better each season he has been in college. Last year, he was the leading scorer for a UCF team that won 20 games. Hall is a unique player, someone who is listed at 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds, but also someone who is comfortable with the ball in his hands and being asked to make a play.
“Auburn lost seven of its top eight leading scorers off last year’s Final Four team. Hall earned 2nd-Team All-Big 12 honors while leading the conference in scoring and finishing top ten in rebounds. He is capable of lining up across multiple levels and self-creating an advantage in his area. There is a lot of production to be had with the Tigers, and it will be very interesting to see the innovative ways that Bruce Pearl gets Hall attacking his spots.”
Hall will start out at the “big guard” position, or “four” position, for the Tigers when he arrives on campus. He officially signed with Auburn on April 3.
“Keyshawn was one of the most impactful players in the transfer portal,” head coach Bruce Pearl said. “He was the leading scorer in the Big 12 and is a bucket getter. (Hall) is a very difficult one-on-one cover and can play multiple positions, both offensively and defensively. He is just a matchup nightmare for the opponent. I thought the biggest factor in his decision was his desire to finish out his college career on top and win a championship.”
Hall began his career at Cleveland (Ohio) Heights before moving to the Skill Factory in Georgia. He then attended Denver Prep before finally beginning his collegiate career at UNLV.

At UNLV, Hall averaged 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists on .479/.500/.680 shooting splits in 10.7 minutes per game.
He then transferred to George Mason, where he started 27 of 28 games played for Patriots. He led the team in scoring (16.6), rebounds (8.1), and free throws made (114). The sophomore posted .474/.357/.844 shooting splits in 30.6 minutes per game. He was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10.
Hall then transferred to UCF, spurning the likes of Arkansas, USC and Michigan State. He started all 33 games for the Knights and earned second-team all-conference honors.
Hall has 1,198 career points and 497 career rebounds.
