Alvin Kamara plays as fast as a NASCAR driver going around Daytona International Speedway. Fittingly, the New Orleans Saints running back has been smitten with the sport since becoming a fan last year.

Prior to the Saints victory over the Green Bay Packers, Kamara repped NASCAR in a unique way.

A slick addition to his signature dark visor, the NASCAR logo shined through on Kamara’s visor pregame. It was his way of helping the sport’s brand grow, as well as announce to the world his electricity.

The visor was a good omen for the former Tennessee running back. In yesterday’s win, he accumulated 91 total yards and a touchdown. As the NASCAR playoffs get under way, Kamara started off the season doing what he can to lead the Saints back to the promise-land.

Kamara: NASCAR’s Growth and Engagement Advisor

In addition to being a fan, Kamara also joined NASCAR in an advisory role as their first ever Growth and Engagement Advisor. In the role, the Saints running back works directly with NASCAR leadership on strategic planning and creative opportunities that support its fan development efforts.

When the announcement was made in June, Kamara spoke about how much of an honor it was to be chosen for the role.

“It’s an honor to be able to team up with NASCAR and be their first-ever Growth and Engagement Advisor,” Kamara said. “I’m excited to use my passion as a fan to help shape their long-term efforts to grow the sport.”

Moreover, Kamara has also sponsored drivers before as well. Last season, his Louisiana-based juice bar, The Big Squeezy, graced Ryan Vargas’ No. 6 JD Motorsports Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona.

Kamara likes to play fast, and that’s the name of the game in NASCAR. As he continues to electrify for the Saints, he’s helping move his favorite sport not named football move forward as well.
