Minkah Fitzpatrick activated off non-football injury list, returns to practice

Star Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is on the mend. Pittsburgh announced today that the defensive back, who was put on the Non-Football Injury List recently, has been taken off of it and returned to practice healthy. Here was the team report, via Twitter:
“S Minkah Fitzpatrick returned to practice today and has been activated off the Non-Football Injury List.”
Fitzpatrick only injured himself a few days earlier. Even then, it was minor. But the Steelers thought to take a step back and evaluate the issue anyway.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were without star defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick for the start of training camp, and we now know why. According to NFL.com reporter Judy Battista, Fitzpatrick is dealing with a wrist injury he sustained during the offseason.
“Mike Tomlin announces Minkah Fitzpatrick is going on NFI with a wrist injury he sustained on vacation. Thinks he fell off a bike. He does not anticipate it being a long-term problem, just some discomfort,” wrote Battista via Twitter a few days ago.

Aside from this injury setback, this offseason has been a memorable one for the Alabama Crimson Tide product. The Steelers made Fitzpatrick the highest-paid safety in the NFL in June with a four-year contract extension. Fitzpatrick is slated to make more than $18.4 million annually and was given a $36 million guaranteed signing bonus.
With this just being the start of NFL training camp, there is not a great deal to be concerned with. For the Steelers, if they can get Fitzpatrick back 100 percent by the time week one of the season rolls around, they will be more than okay with him getting some more recovery time during training camp.
Apparently that wrist healed pretty quick. Fitzpatrick is already back and the injury wasn’t of any concern. However, smart of Pittsburgh to take precaution and assure their star DB is healthy before putting him back out there.
