After the Cleveland Browns disappointing 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots, All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett held nothing back when speaking on the staff. Frustrated with the offense and defense, the NFL sack leader called out the coaches for their failure to make in-game adjustments.

“We’ve got to go back to the drawing board and see how we can get better, see how we can scheme better, see how we can make adjustments on the fly,” said Garrett, via WKYC. “We never had a chance just because we didn’t make any adjustments on the sideline or when we had time to.”

The Browns defense gave up 452 yards on 62 plays, a 7.3 yard per play average. They gave up seven third-down conversions in nine attempts, allowing 30 first downs. On the other side of the ball, Cleveland only produced 217 yards with one third-down conversion.

“I think we didn’t counter like we are supposed to,” Garrett continued. “We didn’t stop the bleeding and they kept attacking where we were deficient. Great play calling. Mac Jones made some great throws. He fit in a couple times across the middle. They were pretty much max protecting and trying to get to the middle of the field, and we didn’t have answers.”

When asked to clarify his statement about Browns staff and sideline adjustments, Myles Garrett said, “We didn’t make adjustments, as in they kept on scoring, and we weren’t countering them. I mean we need to be better.”

In spite of his team’s struggles, Myles Garrett added another sack to his season total.

Baker Mayfield injury

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield exited Sunday’s game against the Patriots late in the third quarter with a knee injury. The former Oklahoma star was seen struggling to walk off the field on his own and is questionable to return, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Prior to leaving the game, Mayfield was 11-of-21 passing for 73 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He later returned to the sidelines with his helmet in hand.

Cleveland falls to 5-5 and last place in the AFC North. That division is particularly tight, as first-place Baltimore entered this week with a 6-3 record. The Ravens are on a bye with no game in Week 10.

Baker Mayfield was already dealing with a shoulder injury, the same one that kept him out in Week 7. Now add to that the knee injury, and things just keep getting more difficult for the fourth-year player and former first round pick.
