Rich Eisen shared his list of top rumors that were circulating at the NFL Combine this year, and dropped a big one about Tom Brady. Eisen made it clear before he even started revealing rumors that he was only repeating what he was told without any evidence provided — before revealing that Brady may have a path back to the NFL if he wants it.

Rich Eisen on Tom Brady possibly unretiring again

“Number one rumor I heard at the combine, not in terms of chatter but this one just blew my mind… Tom Brady may not be done after all,” said Eisen on his show Monday.

“Couple of people were like ‘just hang on, just you wait.’ And I’m like, ‘he’s Instagramming out videos of his cat!’ It doesn’t look like he’s getting big and fat, does it? Let it play out, let’s see who wants what. And the one place that folks are saying keep an eye out for is Miami.

“And if the Dolphins get somehow, someway a doctor’s report [or] a piece of information from a medical evaluation of Tua that he may not be ready to go — suddenly there’s Tom Brady sitting in Florida where his family is located and where he can easily locate himself.

“Keep an eye on that, I was told by a couple of birdies at the combine.”

Although there’s no shortage of fans wanting Brady to come back for another season — and just as many wishing he wouldn’t — Eisen’s reveal is one of the few rumors that explains how the move would even work in practice. According to Eisen’s rumor sources, the Dolphins could open up the communication with Brady if they receive a negative update on the health of starter Tua Tagovailoa.

The NFL is a fluid business, and Eisen’s reveal about Brady wasn’t the only quarterback news involving Miami that he shared that mind lend some truth to the rumors. While nothing manifested from it, Eisen also shared that Philip Rivers reached out to Miami and San Francisco to offer his services as they struggled with replacement scenarios.
