A.J. Brown is officially a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. And on Monday, the team held a press conference to formally introduce him to his new fanbase. During the press conference, Brown addressed many different topics, from his trade from the Tennessee Titans to his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, one of the more exciting things the new Philadelphia wide receiver had to say was a bold statement on Hurts’ future with him going forward.

“I see a guy who is talented, believes in himself. [He] has a strong arm; he’s on time,” said Brown. “And this is all coming from me. This is all the time that we worked out together. I think this sky’s the limit for (him). I’m gonna go to bat for him every Sunday because he’s my friend. It’s a different mentality you bring when you’re playing for somebody that is important to you. It’s not about yourself no more. It’s about you playing for someone else. I’m gonna go above and beyond for this team and for him.”

It’s clear from this press conference that Brown and Hurts have a solid relationship outside of football. And for Philadelphia fans, the hope is that that will translate into big plays on the field. With the Eagles OTA’s starting on May 31, they’ll get to see the level of chemistry Brown and Hurts have together real soon as they prepare into the 2022-2023 season.

Brown reveals Alabama football tie started relationship with Jalen Hurts

The Philadelphia Eagles made one of the most significant moves in the 2022 NFL Draft. Philadelphia traded away multiple draft picks to acquire wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans. Since the trade has gone down and Brown is officially a member of the Eagles, many have wondered about the relationship between him and quarterback Jalen Hurts. The two appear to have a great relationship with one another despite never playing together. And on Monday, during his introductory press conference, Brown explained just where that chemistry comes from.

“It started (when) he was recruiting me to Alabama, and I chose Ole Miss,” said Brown. “But we stayed in contact this entire time. We became really close friends. And you know I’m extremely excited to play with him. We always joked about it, but we never thought it would be reality.”

The two spent the majority of their collegiate career as SEC West rivals as Brown played for Ole Miss and Hurts for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
