The Chiefs have shaken up the NFL with the latest blockbuster trade of an insane off-season. According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill is being dealt to the Miami Dolphins.

“Here it is: The #Chiefs are trading six-time Pro Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the #Dolphins, sources tell me and @TomPelissero,” tweeted Rapoport. “The return is a first-round pick and more, while Hill gets a contract extension that puts him among the highest paid WRs in the NFL.

“Full picks: 2022-1 2022-2 2022-4 2023-4 2023-6.”

Throughout his career, Hill has used his blazing-speed to evolve into one of the league’s top wide receivers. Possessing an innate connection with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the duo has been unstoppable at times.

In six seasons in Kansas City, Hill has accumulated 479 receptions, 6630 receiving yards and 56 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, Hill has been a weapon in the run game and on special teams, adding 719 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, while scoring four touchdowns on special teams, as well.

Additionally, Pelissero added that the Dolphins aren’t wasting any time — extending Hill immediately, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.

“The #Dolphins are signing Tyreek Hill to a three-year, $75 million extension as part of the trade from the #Chiefs, per source,” tweeted Pelissero. “So he’s now under contract through the 2025 season at $23.8M per year overall. By most metrics, the NFL’s new highest-paid receiver.”

Now paid, Hill will be looking to recreate the immense success he’s enjoyed with the Chiefs in Miami. Meanwhile, Kansas City will hope that the combination of tight end Travis Kelce, and a receiving corps led by newly-signed Juju Smith-Schuster can replicate Hill’s impact.

Tyreek Hill’s impact on the Chiefs has been undeniable. However, if the NFL offseason has proven one thing, it’s that no one — not Russell Wilson, not Davante Adams, and now not Tyreek Hill — is untouchable.

Moreover, the news surrounding Tyreek Hill comes after former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. The veteran left the team who drafted him after five seasons and figured to make a nice duo with Hill, but now will have even more responsibility on his plate

After making the move, Smith-Schuster revealed the exact reason he chose to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs over other suitors.

“I am going to play with a future Hall of Fame quarterback, to play with one of the best to ever do it,” Smith-Schuster said, via NFL Network’s Taylor Bisciotti. “My goal as a player is to win, so I’m going to Kansas City with the hopes of winning a Super Bowl.”

Smith-Schuster began his career with future Hall of Fame quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and chose to come back on a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season to finish off that chapter. However, with a new era beginning there, he now turns his attention to playing with another talented quarterback alongside several other talented play-makers, like Travis Kelce.
