Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay revealed Sunday that receiver Allen Robinson suffered a foot injury and is out for the season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Robinson did not play in Sunday’s game against the Chiefs due to the injury, which Rapoport reports is a stress facture and will require surgery. The receiver ends his 2022 campaign with 33 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

The Rams, which won the Super Bowl last season, sit at 3-8 and have already been eliminated from playoff contention. Allen Robinson is the second LA receiver to be ruled out for the season with injury, as Cooper Kupp was placed on injured reserve two weeks ago due to an ankle injury.

A second round pick out of Penn State in 2014, Robinson was in his first season with the Rams after signing a three-year, $46 million contract in the offseason. Prior to that, he spent four years with the Chicago Bears, posting back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons in 2019 and 2020.

With both Robinson and Kupp sidelined, expect Van Jefferson to take over as the Rams’ No. 1 receiver. Ben Skowronek and tight end Tyler Higbee could also see expanded roles.

The Rams suffered a 26-10 loss to Kansas City on Sunday, marking their fifth straight loss. They’ll aim to snap that losing streak despite being shorthanded at 4:05 p.m. ET next Sunday against an NFC West foe in the Seattle Seahawks.
