Report: Tennessee Titans expected to release Bud Dupree
With new GM Ran Carthon in the front office, the Tennessee Titans are already making significant moves on their roster. Now, the latest from Ian Rapoport at the NFL Network suggests their next decision will involve eight-year veteran linebacker Bud Dupree.
Per Rapoport, the Titans are preparing to cut Dupree from the team after just two seasons of a five-year, $82.5 million deal he signed back in 2021. While that means their pass rush will take a hit, it will also save the team money that could be repurposed somewhere else on the roster.

Dupree came into the league in the 2015 NFL Draft after playing at Kentucky. He then spent six seasons in Pittsburgh before being a big free agent signing for Tennessee.
During his NFL career, Dupree has posted 266 tackles and 46.5 sacks. He has also collected four fumble recoveries off 10 forced fumbles as well as an interception. During his two seasons with Tennessee, though, he produced just 35 tackles and two fumbles recoveries. Playing in just 22 games, 17 of which he started, was a big reason why.
It’s obvious that Carthon is cleaning house in some areas he feels are expendable on the roster in Nashville. That puts it on him to spend that extra money wisely before next season while Dupree heads off to free agency to find a new home.
Report: Derek Carr expected to sign contract with New Orleans Saints
After his long tenure with the Raiders, Derek Carr is on to a fresh start in a different uniform. According to Adam Schefter, Carr is expected to sign with New Orleans Saints to continue his career. The deal could be finalized as early as Monday
A second-round pick coming out of Fresno State in the 2014 NFL Draft, Carr has spent the entirety of his career with the Raiders. In that time, Carr made four Pro Bowl rosters. He threw for 35,222 yards, 217 touchdowns, and 99 interceptions. Carr was a Raider’s staple but the 2022 season saw things turn the wrong way.
Carr started and played in 15 games, throwing for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns and a career-high-tying 14 interceptions. It became clear at the end of the season that Carr’s time with the Raiders was coming to a close. That’s because he was benched for Jarrett Stidham in the final two games of the season.
