The Tennessee Titans are holding onto their lead over the Indianapolis Colts but it looks like they’ll be battling out the rest of the fourth quarter without rookie first-round wide receiver Treylon Burks. The first-year player out of Arkansas went down with what appeared to be a significant injury to his left lower leg.

According to team reporter Jim Wyatt, Burks is out for the remainder of the game with a foot injury.

Burks went down and hobbled off the field before removing his cleat and sock. The Titans medical staff carted him off the field with 11:47 remaining in the game. Tennessee held a one-touchdown lead over the Colts.

Prior to being carted off, Burks had three targets for two catches and 14 yards. Coming into the game, the former Razorbacks star had eight catches for 115 yards.

Burks struggles through injuries to start Titans career

Burks was expected to play a huge role this season for the Titans, so if he has to miss time it’d be a big blow to their season. The Titans drafted him with the No. 18 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.

He’s had a very up-and-down start to his NFL career with the Titans. The 6-foot-3, 223-pound wideout struggled with asthma over the summer but rebounded to make some really nice catches in training camp. The franchise was aware of the former Arkansas star’s issues with asthma before they decided to make him a first-round selection in this year’s draft.

The Tennessee Titans drafted Burks after trading away star wide receiver AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Razorbacks star had a huge 2022 season to get a first-round draft evaluation. As a third-year player for the Hogs, Burks had 1,104 yards on 66 receptions with 11 touchdowns.
