Former Alabama star and Washington Commanders rookie Brian Robinson was reportedly shot multiple times during an attempted robbery. The initial reports indicate that the injury was not life-threatening.

“Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson has been shot multiple times in robbery attempt,” explained NBC Washington‘s JP Finlay. “Sources tell me it’s non life threatening. Much more to come.”

The initial reports of the incident were also outlined by NFL Network‘s Mike Garafolo, confirming that Robinson was in stable condition after the shooting.

“Commanders running back Brian Robinson is in stable condition after being shot as the victim in an attempted robbery,” added Garafolo.

The Commanders drafted Robinson with the No. 98 overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. As a fifth-year senior in 2021, Robinson rushed for 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns to help Alabama to the national championship game — an eventual 33-18 loss to Georgia. He also got involved in the passing game, catching 35 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns.

There was plenty of confusion early as people attempted to learn exactly what happened to the young star out of Alabama. An additional NFL Network report from Tom Pelissero added a few more details about the shooting, indicating that Robinson was shot at least two times in the lower body and was hospitalized in stable condition.
