Former Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill continues to shine whenever he touches the football in the preseason for the Green Bay Packers. He scored his second touchdown of the preseason this afternoon against the New York Jets.

SENIOR BOWL STANDOUT

Hill impressed many people during his Senior Bowl week, where his pass catching skills were on fine display. Check out the write-up below, courtesy of The NFL Draft Bible.

“We always knew that Kylin Hill was an exceptional pass catcher. This week proved that and then some. We could only watch him in three games this year; Hill can catch the ball smoothly and move the ball downfield. Hill showed that he has the skills to be a sleeper in this draft. In pass protection, Hill was very impressive when dealing with the bigger linebackers. He didn’t back away from the challenge and went face-to-face with the defender and kept them at bay. Hill looked very good despite the prolonged time off this past season.”

KYLIN HILL MISSISSIPPI STATE CAREER

Hill demonstrated his excellent ability as a pass catcher at Mississippi State, too. Against LSU in 2020, he broke the school record for receiving yards in a single-game by a running back with 158 receiving yards. He also tied Eric Moulds for the school record for the most catches in a single game, when he caught 15 passes at Kentucky. His 15 receptions in a single game currently rank 6th all-time in SEC history.

His best season at Mississippi State came in 2019, when he rushed for 1,350 yards and 11 touchdowns on 242 carries. He was the only SEC running back in 2019 to average over 100 rushing yards per game (he averaged 103.8).

For his entire MSU career, Hill rushed for 2,525 rushing yards, while racking up 16 touchdowns on the ground. As a pass catcher, he hauled in 67 total catches in his career for 631 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.
