For a portion of the NFL season, the biggest story in the league was not anything related to the football being played on the field. An ongoing saga with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and his in-season free agency dominated headlines, especially with the Dallas Cowboys. Nothing came to fruition in December but now, we could be getting the tires turning again.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Beckham will be working out in front of NFL teams on Friday. Arizona will be the site, with Beckham attempting to prove he can still play at an elite level after tearing his ACL during the 2021 Super Bowl.

“Free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. will hold a workout for NFL teams Friday in Arizona, per sources,” Pelissero said. “Beckham is now more than 13 months removed from ACL reconstruction, ready to play … and free to sign at any time.”

Beckham will have a quality quarterback throwing to him in the desert. Former Virginia Tech signal caller Ryan Willis will be there despite currently being on the Memphis Showboats of the USFL.

“Please note that Ryan Willis, QB, Virginia Tech, who is currently under contract to the Memphis Showboats of the USFL, has been granted permission to throw at an upcoming workout for Odell Beckham,” an NFL notice read.

Beckham was last seen wearing a Los Angeles Rams jersey, helping the franchise win a Super Bowl. The unfortunate ACL injury occurred during the game at SoFi Stadium, costing him the entire 2022 season.

Dallas, the Green Bay Packers, and New York Giants were the ones interested in signing Beckham in the midst of playoff pushes last season. However, medicals revealed the wide receiver would not be able to contribute during the regular season.

This workout is the beginning of the process of getting a fresh contract. When healthy and in the right situation, Beckham has proved to be one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He will now have the opportunity to pick his own situation and compete for another championship.
