Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams made a lot of fond memories together from their time in Green Bay. The two are forever linked in history after spending nine seasons together with the Packers, forming an on-field connection that was arguably the best in the league for some of that time.

Both have since gone on to new teams, with Adams joining the Las Vegas Raiders last offseason and Rodgers the New York Jets this year. With the Jets and Raiders playing each other Sunday night, the two former teammates got a chance to embrace on the field before kickoff. You can view the moment below.

The quarterback and receiver left the Packers as two of the best players in franchise history. Rodgers ranks No. 1 in career passing touchdowns (475) and second in total yards (59,055), while Adams is second in receiving scores (73) and fourth in yardage (8,121).

So far this season, Adams ranks 17th in the NFL with 51 catches for 573 yards and three touchdowns. His last season playing with Rodgers in 2021, he was second in the league with 123 catches for 1,553 yards and 11 scores. He recorded at least 1,000 yards in four of five seasons from 2018-22, twice leading the league in single-season touchdowns.

Rodgers won the MVP award four times while playing for the Packers and also claimed a Super Bowl in 2010 before Adams’ arrival. He left Green Bay after 18 seasons in quest of another title with the Jets. Unfortunately, things didn’t go the way he envisioned as he suffered an Achilles injury in the opening week.

The quarterback has not played since as Zach Wilson has stepped in as the starting, leading New York to a 4-4 record so far. Las Vegas enters the game 4-5 but is coming off of a win last week and looking to make it two straight.

With Rodgers likely out for the remainder of the season, it remains to be seen whether he will attempt a comeback in 2024. He’ll be 40 years old at that point and, after already contemplating retirement this offseason, might not have much left in the tank.

Still, he remains one of the top quarterbacks of the modern era, and for a long while Adams was someone who helped him achieve that success. It’s a touching moment to see them both come together to remember those good times and all they accomplished as teammates.
