Aaron Rodgers is laying it on thick for his new teammates in wide receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner.

The duo showed out in their rookie seasons, capturing the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, respectively. However, the freshly-minted New York Jets quarterback believes their ceilings are much higher than that.

Speaking with the vaunted New York media, the former NFL MVP explained why he believes both Wilson and Gardner can ascend to become the best of the best at their respective positions in the coming years/

“We’ve got, at some point possibly, the best corner and the best receiver in the NFL,” Rodgers said, via the New York Post. “It’s a legit possibility for those two guys.

“Maybe not this upcoming year — I still think Davante [Adams] is in a league of his own — but those two kids are so talented.”

At least Rodgers gave his former teammate and friend in Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams some shine. Still, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Wilson and Gardner continue to take the league by storm, they were both first round picks, after all.

Additionally, Rodgers believes the wide receiver-cornerback duo is making each other better during practice, as a true iron sharpens iron scenario is taking place in Florham Park.

“How we take the next step is to talk about the things that give us the most issues,” Rodgers added. “To talk about release issues [caused by Gardner] and what’s hard on Garrett, and then Sauce telling Garrett what’s hard on him.

“I think right now, we have good communication with those guys. They battle, they compete.”

Moreover, the addition of Rodgers is certainly helping things along, as well. The veteran quarterback has already brought a different aura to the longtime cursed NFL franchise.

His vast knowledge of the game is being shared with two of the brightest young stars in the league. It’s not just on the field either, as Rodgers and Gardner were spotted at the New York Knicks playoff game earlier last month, with the youngin’ rizzing up Jessica Alba. That’s some valuable knowledge Gardner is getting.

All jokes aside, the New York Jets are looking like a more serious threat than anyone could’ve imagined moving forward. With Aaron Rodgers, Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson, they’re going to be a force in the coming seasons in the NFL.
