Amazon Prime Video to broadcast 2025 Coca-Cola 600 as first race on streaming
Some huge scheduling news for the NASCAR Cup Series regarding their 2025 campaign was dropped on Tuesday.
According to Amazon Prime Video via FOX’s Bob Pockrass, the first race broadcasted by the streaming service next season will be the Coke 600. That’ll kick off their five-race package, and as Pockrass noted, it indicates a week off between Daytona and Charlotte, which will likely be Easter Sunday.
“Amazon Prime announces the Coke 600 will be the first race of its five Cup events,” Pockrass posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “With where the Daytona 500 is scheduled, that indicates a week off between Daytona and Charlotte. That week off (and possibly only week off for Cup) is expected to be Easter.”
Over the past couple of seasons, NASCAR has broadcasted on Easter Sunday, attempting to takeover the holiday, much like the NFL with Thanksgiving. It’s been met with mixed reviews, and it’s evidently ending in 2025.
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video gaining the Coke 600 as their first race of their partnership with NASCAR is a huge get for the streaming service. It’s one of NASCAR’s crown jewel events, and always receives a strong rating, even on Memorial Day Weekend.
That’s a big blow to FOX’s schedule, and a sign that NASCAR is moving forward into the future. Amazon Prime Video already has a myriad of NFL games, and now they’ll have the Coke 600, among other races, in 2025.

On Tuesday, they revealed something that figures to be awesome for racing fans, announcing a documentary on Dale Earnhardt Sr. is in the works at Prime Video Sports, promising it to be “a profound, revealing, and definitive account of a historic American family.”
In addition to the documentary, Amazon Prime Video will also develop a host of other NASCAR-related content, including hosting numerous races during the summer next season, which will coincide with the freshly-minted 32-driver tournament that was announced earlier this week.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. will also be on the call when NASCAR is on Amazon Prime Video, joining their booth, as well as TNT Sports’ when they takeover after Amazon Prime Video. He’s sure to have a gigantic role in helping develop the aforementioned documentary, as well.
When it’s finally released, it should be something to behold, as Amazon Prime Video has proven to be a quality content distributor since getting into the streaming game. Netflix set the bar high with their in-season documentary, but the Dale Earnhardt Sr. story could blow it out of the water if done right.
