Things are already off to a wet start in Phoenix as the ARCA Menards Series waits out the rain and postpones practice as a result. There is a mixed ARCA field with the West Series as well meaning we will see plenty of talent on the track.

Right now the forecast does not look good for practice. We likely could get qualifying in tonight. However, the most important thing is starting the race on time. With about 3.5 hours until the green flag, there isn’t much time to dry the track and do practice/qualifying as usual.

The officials at NASCAR and ARCA are going to get as much on-track activity as possible. Tune in at 8:00 PM EST on FS1 to watch the action tonight.

There are a few notable names in this ARCA race at Phoenix. Many are competing in the full national series schedule while others will only race the West Series schedule this year.

Lavar Scott, Brad Perez, Treyten Lapcevich, Brent Crews, Lawless Alan, Brenden Queen, Thad Moffitt, Isabella Robusto, Ryan Vargas, and Corey Day are names to watch tonight.

Queen won the season-opener for ARCA at Daytona. Lapcevich is a former NASCAR Canada champion looking for any racing opportunities in America. He was racing full-time in the CARS Tour last season but has had a few things fall through for 2025.

Crews is the youngest on this list of names and perhaps the most talented. Robusto might be the best young woman prospect in NASCAR ever. Then there is Day, the dirt standout with a Hendrick Motorsports contract and the support of Kyle Larson.

Scott was the runner-up in the points standings last season to his teammate Andres Perez de Lara. He wants to win races this year and show he’s ready to move up. Lawless has been developing and has starts with Tricon this season in the Truck Series. Fan favorites Perez and Vargas will bring experience to this group of drivers.

This season the ARCA Menards Series feels a bit open. As far as the championship race goes, there are a few that could claim the title. Queen, Lawless, Scott, Robusto – those drivers could all make a real run at this championship.

During the last two seasons we have seen dominance from a select few racers. Jesse Love owned the series in 2023. Then William Sawalich and Connor Zilisch came on the scene part-time last year and picked up a lot of wins. A full-time driver failed to win a single race last season in ARCA.

So, who will rise to the top of the ARCA field at Phoenix? I really like Robusto. She was P6 in the shortened Phoenix race last season in her ARCA debut. She picked up top-5s at Elkhart, Springfield, Nashville, Portland, and Irwindale last year.
