The Arizona Cardinals could be without Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown for the rest of the season, according to Adam Schefter. Schefter reported that Brown suffered a foot injury in Sunday’s game versus the Seattle Seahawks and that the wideout will undergo further testing to determine the severity on Monday. He left the stadium with a boot on his foot, despite negative X-rays after the contest.

In the Cardinals’ 19-9 loss on Sunday, Brown posted five catches for 68 yards. The game brought his total for the season up to 43 catches, 485 yards and three touchdowns.

Not only does the former first-round pick out of Oklahoma lead Arizona in receiving yards, but he’s also No. 5 in the NFL in receptions. Brown is in his first season with the Cardinals following a trade that brought him to town from the Baltimore Ravens. Last season, he had 91 catches for a career-high 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.

The loss would be devastating for the squad that’s 2-4 through six weeks. However, the Cardinals opted to make a big move on Monday in case Brown has to miss significant time or the rest of the season.

The Panthers traded WR Robbie Anderson to the Cardinals in exchange for a 6th-round pick in 2024 and a 7th-round pick in 2025, per Schefter.

Carolina Panthers trade Robbie Anderson to Cardinals

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Carolina Panthers have found a trading partner for wide receiver Robbie Anderson. The news comes less than 24 hours after interim head coach Steve Wilks kicked Anderson off the field in Sunday’s game versus the Los Angeles Rams. The Panthers are sending the former Jet to the Arizona Cardinals.

Anderson got in the face of his wideouts coach Joe Dailey during Sunday’s afternoon matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams. The very public sideline spat came after a report that the team was shopping the talented pass-catcher for a potential trade.

At the time of his exit from the game, Anderson didn’t have a catch. On the season thus far, he hasn’t been able to find his footing. He has amassed just 13 receptions for 206 receiving yards and one touchdown through five games.

After posting his first and only 1,000-yard season in 2020, his production dipped in 2021. He had just 519 yards and five touchdowns on 53 receptions. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to move on and find new success with quarterback Kyler Murray in Arizona.

Arizona will take over the remaining $690,000 prorated portion of Anderson’s base salary for the 2022 season, according to Tom Pelissero.
