Details are out on how much Jadeveon Clowney can make with the Baltimore Ravens in the 2023 season.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Clowney’s one-year deal is worth a maximum of $6 million. Clowney is set to take a sizeable pay cut as last year’s one-year deal with the Browns was reportedly worth $11 million.

The former No. 1 overall pick visited with Baltimore on Thursday, before signing with the Ravens on Friday.

Clowney is entering his 10th year in the league. He has also played for the Texans, Seahawks, Titans and Browns. The Rock Hill, South Carolina native was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2014 NFL draft.

Clowney starred for the South Carolina Gamecocks for three years in college, prior to being the top pick in the NFL draft.

A two-time All-American in college, Clowney has made three Pro Bowls in his NFL career and was named second-team All-Pro in 2016. Clowney has recorded at least nine sacks in a season three times in his career, including most recently in 2021 with the Browns.

Rapoport added that Clowney will be used as a situational rusher with the Ravens. Baltimore has a couple of other excellent pass rushers in former first-round pick Odafe Oweh and former second-round pick David Ojabo.

While Jadeveon Clowney has had a solid NFL career, he hasn’t produced at quite the level most expected him to as he was coming out of South Carolina.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder dominated the SEC during his time with the Gamecocks. In three seasons, he accounted for 47 tackles for loss, 24 sacks and nine forced fumbles.

Ravens also signed DB Ronald Darby

Jadeveon Clowney isn’t the only defender the Ravens have signed this week.

News broke on Thursday that former Florida State star Ronald Darby is getting another shot in the NFL after suffering a torn ACL last season. Darby is receiving a one-year deal, which is worth up to $3.2 million, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

Baltimore was in search of another cornerback after one of its top players in Marlon Humphrey went down with a foot injury earlier this week. Humphrey is expected to be out until late September, according to Rapoport, leaving the Ravens in search of a replacement.

Ronald Darby signing apparently means that he is back healthy after tearing his ACL last October.

The former second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Broncos in March of 2021. However, he was cut this past March following the torn ACL.

Darby has spent eight seasons in the NFL, and this will mark his fifth different team thus far. In addition to the Ravens, Bills and Broncos, he has also played for the Eagles and in Washington.
