Bam Adebayo is one of the best big men in the NBA. The 6-foot-9, 255-pounder is truly like something built out of a lab. On Thursday, he and the Miami Heat players decided to stop by the Miami Hurricanes’ basketball facilities and get some practice in. After Miami let them use their gym to get some practice in, Adebayo decided to say a message of thanks on Twitter.

Check it out below.

“What up people? It’s Bam Adebayo. Just wanted to say I appreciate the U, letting us use the gym here. Get up some good run. Go Heat!”

Adebayo is coming off a spectacular 2023 campaign with the Heat where he and Jimmy Butler helped propel their team all the way to the 2023 NBA Finals. Miami lost in five games to a dominant Denver Nuggets squad in the finals, but Adebayo still led the team in scoring in rebounding with 21.8 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game. He also dished out 3.2 assists per outing.

Miami has a stacked roster returning yet again

The Hurricanes went out and landed one of the most coveted prospects in the transfer portal this offseason. Not only did they land a big prospect, but they snatched him from their rival, the Florida State SeminolesMatthew Cleveland is a man that has proven time and time again to have freon coursing through his veins during the closing seconds of games. The Hurricanes would know. After all, Cleveland guided the Seminoles back from a 25-point deficit to stun No. 13 Miami last year. He drained a contested three-pointer at the buzzer to lift FSU to their record-setting win over the ‘Canes.

Cleveland is just one of the reasons On3’s Jamie Shaw picked Miami as one of his ten teams who can win a national championship in 2023-2024. The ‘Canes made it to the Elite Eight in 2022 and then in 2023, followed it up with their first Final Four in program history. Miami also returns Norchad Omier and Nijel Pack, two of the more talented players in the ACC.

Omier is one of the best rebounders in America and he led the ACC in total rebounds. Pack has shot 41.6 percent from three-point range for his career and has already pumped in 1,287 career points in three seasons.

Miami also returns Wooga Poplar, a player that many, including On3’s Jamie Shaw, have pegged as a breakout star for next season. He’s ultra-athletic and one glimpse at him on tape and it’s easy to see why. He connected on 37.5 percent of his threes last year. Poplar stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists in the Hurricanes’ 88-81 win over the Texas Longhorns in the Elite Eight.

The Hurricanes will have plenty of expectations and hype on their shoulders entering 2023-2024, but the talent and coaching is there to make yet another impressive run in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
