Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has a deal to make with former star Chad Johnson (OchoCinco). It involves a very specific touchdown celebration.

With microphones around him, Chase said that he’d grab a TV camera after scoring a touchdown, recreating Johnson’s famous TD celebration. The only catch? He wants the former NFL receiver to pay the fine.

“Chad, If I score a touchdown and grab the camera, like you did, I need you to pay for the fine for me,” Chase said. “That’s my only ask, man. Only thing.”

Shortly after, Johnson agreed to the stipulation. He made the promise with a post on X after Chase’s comments hit the internet.

“Say less I’ll pay the fine,” Johnson said.

And, just in case you don’t recall Johnson’s famous celebration, below is an image. A few players have re-enacted that moment, but it would be pretty funny to see another Bengals receiver re-live it.

Chase has found the end zone four times this season, and has totaled 60 catches for 656 yards. After an ugly 1-3 start for the Bengals, they’ve won three straight games to improve to 4-3 on the year.

So, now that Cincinnati is starting to heat up a bit, Chase wants to up his celebration game. And if he does grab the TV camera in Sunday’s game against Buffalo, Johnson is more than happy to hand over the cash.

Ja’Marr Chase’s backflip catches plenty of attention

Chase might be the next big thing in the world of unique touchdown celebrations. Last week, his backflip after a touchdown catch against the 49ers went viral.

Quarterback Joe Burrow hit a wide-open Chase in the end zone from 17 yards out the give the Bengals a 24-10 advantage. Immediately after scoring the touchdown, the receiver did a backflip to celebrate.

Chase could’ve done backflips all across the field last week. He hauled in 10 catches for 100 yards on 12 targets in last weekend’s 31-17 victory. He’s now exceeded the 100-yard receiving mark three times in Cincinnati’s last five games.

We can’t wait to see what other kinds of celebrations Chase has in store for us this season. And we’re hoping for at least one touchdown grab Sunday against the Bills.

Well, maybe everyone except folks in Buffalo.
