Packers defensive back Benny Sapp III, the second-generation NFL player, made a memory Saturday he’ll keep forever. He made a game-saving interception to seal victory over the Seahawks.

Give it a look and absorb all the drama. The pick allowed the Packers to finish preseason with a 19-15 victory.

It was a beautiful moment for Sapp, whom the Packers signed as an undrafted free agent back in May. He’s the son of Benny Sapp II, who played eight seasons in the NFL.

By the time Sapp made his interception, both coaches had filled the field with young players who are desperate for a roster spot. Sapp picked Seahawks quarterback Holton Ahlers, a rookie quarterback from East Carolina.

Although the starters were nowhere near the field, you still want to see whether your team will compete. And the fourth quarter was filled with drama.

Packers gave up lead midway through fourth quarter

Seattle’s Drew Lock, a one-time first-round pick for the Broncos, led the Seahawks on an 89-yard touchdown march midway through the fourth quarter. Former Texas Tech star SaRodorick Thompson scored a one-yard touchdown to give Seattle its first lead of the game with 6 minutes, 38 seconds to play.

But the Packers responded with a drive of their own. Green Bay needed nine plays and 75 yards that ended with a one-yard Nate McCrary TD. Reserve quarterback Alex McGough completed a 52-yard pass to Jadakis Bonds to give the drive some life. The drive allowed the Packers to retake the lead.

That wasn’t the end of the drama. Ahlers completed a 42-yard pass to set up the Seahawks at the Packers 41. With the seconds ticking down, Seattle got all the way down to the Green Bay 14, But that’s when Sapp intercepted a pass intended for rookie receiver Tyjon Lindsey, a former Oregon State star.

Of course, none of this counts except for coaching evaluations for roster spots. Every team has to whittle its roster to 53 players by Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jordan Love, the Packers’ new starting quarterback, had a short, but effective outing. He completed nine of 15 passes for 63 yards, including a touchdown pass to Christian Watson. Plus, he also led the Packers to an opening drive field goal.
