Football in July? Yes, football in July. The USFL Championship is taking place on Sunday evening, as the spring football league will see its season end. The Birmingham Stallions are taking on the Philadelphia Stars for the crown.

With the game tied at three early in the second quarter, Birmingham was driving down the field. After running back Bo Scarbrough took a handoff up the middle, he was off to the races and running down the right sideline. Scarbrough went into the endzone, nearly untouched to give the Stallions a 10-3 lead.

You can watch the full clip here.

The 36-yard touchdown is nothing new for Scarbrough, as he has been productive for Birmingham all season. He got into the endzone plenty of time just an hour away in Tuscaloosa as well, being a former Alabama Crimson Tide running back.

During his time in college, Scarbrough rushed for 1,512 yards and 20 touchdowns over a three year period. He appeared in three straight College Football Playoffs, winning two national championships with the Crimson Tide. Scarbrough also got to play alongside fellow great Alabama running backs, such as Derrick Henry.

The NFL Draft called his name after his junior campaign, where he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round. From there, Scarbrough played for five other NFL teams, with the Las Vegas Raiders being the latest in 2021 as a practice squad member.

While showcasing himself in the USFL is nice, the goal for Scarbrough will be to get back into the NFL for the upcoming season. After his touchdown in the championship game, he is already making a good case for himself. Teams will be looking to possibly add players later in the summer, where the running back can fight for a spot on a roster.
