Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris is expected to be “fine,” according to ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler on Monday following a scary incident on the field on Sunday night.

As the Bills battled for their fourth win of the season, Harris was rushed to the hospital after going down on the field and requiring medical attention. However, the former third-rounder has full movement in his extremities after suffering what the source told Fowler is a neck sprain.

“So, things are heading in a good direction right now for Damien,” Sean McDermott said following Buffalo’s 14-9 win. The injury came on the running back’s only carry of the game.

Harris is in his first season in Buffalo after having spent the previous four seasons in New England. He had logged just five carries for 22 yards and a touchdown this season, while also catching two passes for 16 yards. He’s been used primarily as a short-yardage option.

In total in his career, Harris has run for 2,187 yards and 21 touchdowns, while catching 53 passes for 297 yards. He is a former third-round NFL Draft pick by the Patriots, coming into the league in 2019.

Harris earned his way into the NFL after a very productive career at Alabama. He was a two-time national champion and earned second-team All-SEC honors during the 2018 season.

The talented back ran for 3,070 yards and 23 touchdowns while with the Crimson Tide, while also catching 52 passes for 407 yards and two touchdowns.

NFL suffers rash of injuries to stars in Week 6

The NFL had a rash of injuries to big-name stars during Week 6 games. Players like quarterbacks Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence and Ryan Tannehill all suffered injuries that caused them to exit their games early on Sunday.

Lawrence is reportedly day-to-day with a knee injury leading up to a Thursday Night Matchup against the Saints this week. Lawrence was unable to finish his squad’s 37-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon after suffering the injury.

“Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence has an MRI on his knee, but he’s currently described as day-to-day, source said,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared Monday. “The belief is no major injury for Lawrence, who finished the game. It’s a quick turnaround for Thursday, but the hope is he’s OK for it.”
