The Carolina Panthers have released its inactives list ahead of Thursday Night Football’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

After being activated earlier in the week, quarterback Sam Darnold will not suit up Thursday. Linebacker Arron Mosby and tackle Larnel Coleman have also been announced as inactive, while safety Juston Burris (concussion) and wideout Rashard Higgins (illness) were both ruled out Wednesday after being unable to practice all week.

In lighter news, running back Chubba Hubbard returns to the lineup after missing the past two games with an ankle injury.

Thursday night’s showdown will feature a pair of teams under .500 for the season, but the Panthers are still fully in the mix for the NFC South title. The Panthers’ only two wins on the season came at the expense of division rivals Tampa Bay and New Orleans, although the Falcons beat Carolina less than two weeks before Week 10’s rematch in a 37-34 overtime finish.

Kickoff between the Falcons and Panthers is set for 8:15 p.m. ET live on Amazon Prime.

Falcons LT Jake Matthews attends birth of child, to play in Thursday Night Football on same day

Regardless of Thursday Night Football’s outcome, Atlanta Falcons LT Jake Matthews has already won.

The 2014 first round pick out of Texas A&M witnessed the birth of his first born child Thursday, just hours before his team kicks off against the Carolina Panthers. Falcons owner Arthur Blank is making the trip to Gainesville, Georgia to pick Matthews up and take him to the stadium before kickoff.

He is expected to play.

A classy act from the Falcons owner, and now Matthews has a fantastic story to tell his child about their birth when they get older – especially if the Falcons can pick up the victory.
