The Carolina Panthers dropped their injury report ahead of a divisional matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in Florida. Overall, the Panthers are in OK shape health-wise and the Buccaneers got some good news on the offensive line.

Only three Panthers players did not practice on Wednesday and two were for rest. Cornerback Jaycee Horn continues to rehab a wrist injury and did not practice.

Another trio were limited on Wednesday. Wideout Shi Smith is dealing with a foot injury, linebacker Shaq Thompson is working through a hamstring and tight end Tommy Tremble has a hip injury.

Tight end Stephen Sullivan was a full participant with an ankle injury.

The good news for the Buccaneers is center Ryan Jensen has entered the 21-day practice period after coming off of injured reserve. He won’t be ready to play just yet, but it’s a big step — and means he’s off the injury report because he’s not currently on the 53-man roster.

Dr. David Chao reveals specifics, injury timeline for Jaycee Horn

Carolina Panthers star cornerback Jaycee Horn was thought to have broken his wrist on Saturday against the Detroit Lions. On Saturday afternoon following the game, Panthers’ linebacker Brian Burns confirmed that Horn indeed broke his wrist. He also said that depending on the severity of the injury, he would not want Horn playing again the rest of the season. Following the game, renowned sports physician Dr. David Chao chimed in with his thoughts on the type of injury, noting that if it’s a radius fracture, he would need surgery. He also noted whether or not Horn could return the rest of the 2022-2023 season.

Jaycee Horn went down with the injury in the second half Saturday and had to be carted off the field. He recorded six tackles prior to exiting the game.

A former first round pick out of South Carolina in 2021, Horn played in just three games as a rookie before suffering a fractured foot. That makes Saturday’s injury all the more devastating, as he had bounced back from that injury to tally 53 tackles, three interceptions and seven passes defended this season.
